Cockroaches

Cockroaches are probably the most common and problematic household pests, and among the hardiest insects on the planet. They’re known to spread several kinds of bacteria, parasitic worms, and other types of human pathogens.

Silverfish

Silverfish are found in moist areas such as bathrooms, basements, and attics. They are nocturnal and prefer dry food such as flour, pasta, and pet food; several types of paper including wallpaper and book bindings; and starch in clothing.

House Ant.png

Ants

Ants are among the most prevalent pests in households but can also be problematic for restaurants, hospitals, offices, and warehouses. Ants feed on fruits, sugars, seeds, nuts, syrups, fatty substances, dead or live insects, and dead animals.

Wasps

Packing a painful sting and demanding respect, yellow jackets, a type of common wasp, are very aggressive and may sting repeatedly. Yellow jacket colonies can reach populations of up to 15,000, depending on the species. Hornets, the largest wasps with some species measuring up to 2.2” in length, can mobilize the entire nest to sting in defense, making hornets highly dangerous. Some species deliver the most venomous sting among all insects. All wasps become very defensive when they feel threatened or their nests are disturbed.

Bees

Bees are very important to our planet’s ecology, yet a nest in the wrong place can be a serious nuisance and a threat. Bees will sting when threatened, and their colonies are large, so homeowners are advised not to address the infestation themselves. Contact a pest control professional or experienced beekeeper who can safely remove a nest.

Venomous Spiders

Venomous spiders exist throughout Louisiana and include the brown widow, brown recluse, and black widow. They may enter houses and other structures through cracks and other openings.

mouse.png

Mice

Mice are the most abundant rodents in the United States, consuming and contaminating food meant for humans, pets, and livestock. Mice also cause damage to structures and property and transmit pathogens that cause disease. Micro droplets of mouse urine can cause allergies in children. Mice will also bring ticks, fleas, mites, and lice into your home.

Rats

In addition to all the same health hazards associated with mice, rats cause problems by gnawing on electrical wires and wooden structures and tearing up insulation in walls and ceilings. Rats also damage garden crops and ornamental plantings.

Flee.png

Fleas

Flea infestations can be a huge problem for homeowners. Pets suffering from flea bites scratch themselves incessantly. Fleas also feed on humans and may carry human diseases such as typhus and tularemia.

Fire Ants.png

Fire Ants

In addition to their stings, fire ants cause problems by building their nests around trees, yard plants, and pipes, and in the walls of structures and outdoor electrical fixtures.

Mosquito.png

Mosquitos

Mosquitos transmit diseases such as malaria, West Nile virus, filariasis, Dengue fever, and encephalitis, which kills and debilitates millions of people worldwide, even with today’s advance in medicine.

Bed Bug_.png

Bed Bugs

This elusive, nocturnal creature comes out at night to feed exclusively on blood. Bed bugs are very resilient and may live up to 12 months without a blood meal. They will crawl considerable distances to obtain a blood meal.
